Midgledon Wood – 12 Years On….

At the Autumn gathering, 01/11/14, we visited Midgelden Wood.

This is a ten hectare site planted in 2001/2002 on what was an exposed, eroded piece of poorly managed land on Bacup road Todmorden near the source of the river Calder. Now 12 years on the trees are established, soil depth is increasing and vegetation is begin to cover the eroded areas. It’s starting to feel like a wood.
